This session is aimed at age 7-12 years old. No experience necessary!
Monday 3rd August - 9.00am - 3.00pm.
NEW STUDIO - Stirchley Sewing School, 1387 Pershore Road, B30 2JR
Your tween will learn how to use the sewing machine to create their own appliqué designs — a technique that’s like drawing with fabric! They’ll then turn their creations into a bag or cushion to take home. They might also have time to make some fabric scrap decorations too!
If you have a tween with previous sewing experience, they will be offered projects they can progress onto such as applique onto a garment, or create a fabric they can they turn into a garment!
This class is perfect for creative tweens who enjoy art, textiles, and hands-on making. Each day of summer school is packed with fun, practical activities that help build confidence, develop artistic skills, and, most importantly, inspire self-expression and creativity.
There will be regular snack breaks and a lunchbreak taken in the secure garden if the weather is ok. There is a toilet and kitchenette with a fridge to store lunch in.
No prior sewing experience necessary and all materials will be provided. Please dress your tween in clothes that could potentially get a bit messy! Groups are kept to small numbers in order to allow students to feel comfortable and make new friends!
Upon booking, you will receive an email with further details and consent forms.
Your tutor will be Charlotte, who has worked as a teacher in numerous mainstream and SEN settings. She also has a fully enhanced DBS.
