ABSOLUTE BEGINNERS - Saturday 5th July
Absolute Beginners course condensed into a Saturday workshop for those that cannot make evening classes!

NEVER touched a sewing machine or completely forgotten how? This is the course for you.
This course is aimed at absolute beginners who have either never sewn or have forgotten how to and need a confidence boost! We will cover all the basics enabling you to leave with a handmade cushion cover. In addition to this, you will take home a stitch portfolio of your sewn samples that can be used to help you with future projects.
WHAT WILL YOU LEARN?
During this 1 day beginners class you will:
- Learn how to use a sewing machine, thread it up and wind a bobbin
- How to change a needle/troubleshoot
- Be shown how to complete your own stitch samples of different types of seams & hem techniques.
- Fill in a stitch portfolio with your sewn samples and information on how to do/where this would be found/uses for you to take home.
- Learn how to read and cut out a pattern.
- Cut out and make a cushion cover using your newly developed skills!
The class is 6 hours in total with a 30 min lunch break. It includes use of the sewing machine, all equipment you need and a cup of tea and biscuits.
You will be taught by the amazing Paula, pattern cutting and sewing lecturer (probably the best dressmaker I know!).
You will receive a file of information for you to add notes and your sewing samples too. Fabric to learn seams and sewing practice with is included. You will need to purchase a small amount of fabric for your cushion cover (eg. 60cm of cotton/linen - you will receive an email with all info).
